Frequently Asked Questions

Who is 2Return for?

2Return's services are for anyone who wants to keep control of their packaging. The starting point is that a large amount of reusable packaging circulates between many different users.

We have a specific packaging; do you manage that too?

Yes, we can manage all types of multi-use packaging. Our packaging services and systems for Pooling, Packaging Recovery and RTI Management are independent of the type of logistics packaging. We can arrange this as long as the packaging fits in a normal truck.

What is the difference between rent and pooling?

Rent means making boxes, pallets or rolling containers temporarily available, whereby rent is calculated. The responsibility of locating the rented items lies entirely with you. In contrast to rental, the packaging items are not only made available at pooling, but we also take care of the delivery, the collection from the customers and we manage them. By means of track & trace, the items are fully followed so that you can always find out where the roll containers, pallets or boxes are located. Whether they are at your own location, with one of your customers or on the road with a carrier.

Which articles can we pool?

In principle, all packaging items can be used for pooling, as long as they fit in a normal truck. These can be wooden or plastic pallets, plastic or metal boxes and plastic crates, both fixed and collapsible.

What if there is no 2Return depot nearby?

We maintain a dynamic network to which depots are regularly added, depending on the needs of our customers. A new depot can be added depending on the volume offered and the distance to the nearest existing depot.

Is there a minimum collection quantity?

In principle, our service has no minimum volume, but from an economic point of view we often calculate with a minimum number. This number depends on the value of the packaging and the costs of transport. For example, a minimum of 30-45 pallets applies to wooden pallets, but for plastic pallets, a single stack or pieces can already be useful for collection.

What needs to be done before I can start using the services of 2Return?

We will make an inventory of your current packaging flows. We will make an analysis based on the data for a representative period and the desired goals. We also usually conduct an audit at your location, after which we prepare a business case. This will not only indicate the expected savings, but we will also propose a schedule and a plan of action. The turnaround time for drawing up a business case is on average 1-2 months.

What are the costs for drawing up a business case?

Efforts must be made on both sides to achieve a fully-fledged business case. The purpose of the business case is to demonstrate the points for improvement in costs, process and environment and then to realize them together. The business case does not commit you to anything and there are no costs involved.

What information is needed to draw up a business case?

The basis of the business case will include the type and quantity of packaging in circulation, the number of addresses, the delivery frequency per address and the transport distances. Transport costs are the most important element when returning logistics resources. To calculate these, the location data such as country and postcode of the collection addresses must be provided. In addition, the average numbers per address are part of the calculation.

What does Packaging Recovery or RTI Management cost?

The costs depend on the numbers of packaging, the transport distances and other wishes. We will work out a personal proposal based on your company's data.
